History was made on the 19th of July 2020 as SISL held its (Maiden) Junior Table Tennis Tournament. The event in which total cost is NGN 254,780 (USD 557.51) to cover all expenses excluding Shoe worth NGN90,000 (USD 196.94) donated by Dr. (AMBP) Stefano Piotti that brought it to reality featured mostly players from River State which were a total of six(6) Junior Male players and four(4) Female players. The event started with the female juniors playing for a few hours and then taking breaks while the male junior took over.
The finals for the Junior Female was played by Rejoice Maduka and Usman Musa with Rejoice emerging as the overall winner for the female junior while Prosper Obasuyi through tough hours of resilience with Donald Charles emerged as the overall winner for the male junior, indeed it was a game of strength, quick-wittiness and perseverance and all players pulled in their A-game.
Both Medals and cash prices were given to the winners of both categories including a consolation price to the other players, all fully sponsored by DECISIVE through the CSR department of SISL.
The prices were awarded by Mr. Stefano Piotti who chaired the event, also in attendance as a special quest to support the award of prizes to the winners was Queen Christabel Boma representing the SISL CSR, she felt elated and excited as she handed over this prices.
